Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal, to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth. Making, baking and selling fresh bread and tasty treats from his very own shop on Gosforth High Street…there’s still a Greggs there today, although it’s looking a little bit different these days! Over the years we’ve opened more and more shops across the nation, and have become somewhat of a Nation’s sweetheart in communities far and wide. Our menu has also changed with Britain’s taste. The long-standing Greggs fans among you may even remember the olden days before the hotly-debated Vegan Sausage Roll, or our freshly ground Fairtrade espresso. Yep, we’ve loved rolling through the decades with our customers. But, behind the freshly made sandwiches and golden puff pastry, we’ve always been committed to doing good. Way back in the sixties, we started with our free ‘pie n peas supper’ for older residents in the North East. Today, we’re still as committed as we’ve always been. Through Greggs Foundation and with support from over 100 partners, we provide 7.5 million free wholesome breakfasts to primary school children every year. Our support for the Children’s Cancer Run has raised over £30m to fund research into improving recovery rates of children with cancer. All of this, and so much more. We love our communities and we’re proud to be able to give back to them. So, here we are today. With over 2,000 Greggs in the UK, the important stuff still matters to us. We're hard-working, but above all else we're family; and it doesn't matter who you are, where you are from or what your favourite bake is, when you come into our shops, you’re part of the family too.

Gregg's newest vegan product: Vegan sausage, bean and cheese bake!

Super tasty and great of

you need a quick snack while out! Fantastic that it's so widely available!

I never had the non-vegan version of this but I doubt it tastes any different just like the sausage roll doesn't.

Hopefully Gregg's will roll out many more vegan options soon!

I was so excited when I first heard these were coming to greggs and now

I've tried it, my dreams have come true. They are perfect! Veganism can stop now nothing will ever be better than this.

I’ve had this a few times now and I swear it’s been different every time,

in this one there was hardly any filling and it was quite burnt, but ones i’ve eaten before have definitely had more filling, which is a bit annoying but it still tastes pretty good. Although it probably won’t be available for long anyway as we are only allowed two options at a time at greggs for some reason! #veganisnotscary #day29

Nice pastry quite tasty probably could do without cheese just have a bean and vegan

sausage one, cheese seems to add nothing.

Yay more choices for vegans on the high street!

Overall, a triumph and a great addition

to the world of vegan baked-goods.

✔️ Nice flaky and crisp pastry
👍 Good filling oozing with cheesy, beany goodness. Sausage kept shape
✔️ Love the beans inside as not hard or salty
👍 Not heavy going and good size
✔️ Good for lunch, snack - grab and go!

👎 make the price more competitive and cheaper than meat options

I quite liked the sausage pieces inside the bake. The beans and cheeze had mixed

together already and as always, I enjoyed the outside because I love puff pastry.

Never had the non-vegan version of this but I imagine it was pretty similar. Obviously

not very healthy but very homely and satisfying. Beans and pastry together is a big yes from me

Loved it, much better than the steak bake it replaced. Cheesely, not light on sausages.

Greggs pastry is great too.
