Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal, to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth. Making, baking and selling fresh bread and tasty treats from his very own shop on Gosforth High Street…there’s still a Greggs there today, although it’s looking a little bit different these days! Over the years we’ve opened more and more shops across the nation, and have become somewhat of a Nation’s sweetheart in communities far and wide. Our menu has also changed with Britain’s taste. The long-standing Greggs fans among you may even remember the olden days before the hotly-debated Vegan Sausage Roll, or our freshly ground Fairtrade espresso. Yep, we’ve loved rolling through the decades with our customers. But, behind the freshly made sandwiches and golden puff pastry, we’ve always been committed to doing good. Way back in the sixties, we started with our free ‘pie n peas supper’ for older residents in the North East. Today, we’re still as committed as we’ve always been. Through Greggs Foundation and with support from over 100 partners, we provide 7.5 million free wholesome breakfasts to primary school children every year. Our support for the Children’s Cancer Run has raised over £30m to fund research into improving recovery rates of children with cancer. All of this, and so much more. We love our communities and we’re proud to be able to give back to them. So, here we are today. With over 2,000 Greggs in the UK, the important stuff still matters to us. We're hard-working, but above all else we're family; and it doesn't matter who you are, where you are from or what your favourite bake is, when you come into our shops, you’re part of the family too.

This is a great vegan option from Greggs which is now a fantastic chain of

bakeries for vegan people! Baked goods are rarely over a few quid and are great value for money!

I finally managed to try this today. The pastry was very nice and flaky. And

the stake was as good as the real thing! Definitely getting this again. I’m glad that Greggs is coming up with more vegan pasties 👏

This is so tasty. Also even better for the planet we got it off too

good to go! Two things, 1. good for greggs for doing too good to go, 2. Great they’re putting the vegan food in the bags for more people to try! We have a mixed diet family, so O wasn’t expecting anything but it was!! #toogoodtogo #abillionturns3

Greggs has done it again with another amazing vegan-ised version of their classic #steakbake!

It

looks better than the sausage roll, not as anemic in colour, tastes great - but the texture is definitely more mince like than the original chunky steak bake!

Well worth it!

This is a good vegan quick lunch, I’m glad more mainstream places like greggs have

got more vegan options now! #veganin2020

Pastry was lovely! Nice and hot as it was just cooked, the actual filling tasted

meaty although the quorn chunks had broken up a bit in the sauce
#huntsabs

Excellent pastry, strongly flavoured filling. Much more enjoyable when you manage to get a hot

one. #willows
