This Fiery Wind Noodle Soup is easily the best Asian rice noodle soup I’ve ever

had the pleasure of eating.💯 Though I’ve actually reviewed this soup once before in years past, it was then under a different name, and the restaurant itself was also under a different name, so I figured a new review was in order!

Made with 13 medicinal herb Lan Zhou broth, fresh rice noodles, tender vegan chicken (also some of the best vegan chicken I’ve ever tasted), with daikon, yue choy, green onion, cilantro, and chili oil. This soup is labeled SPICY on the menu and is also #glutenfree. I’m not someone who loves super spicy things, but this soups spice level is tolerable for me and definitely helps clear my sinuses, yet I’m not in agony or feeling like I can’t enjoy other flavors while eating this.

Formerly known as Ichiza Kitchen, Jade Rabbit is entirely vegan and ran by head chef Cyrus Ichiza. After leaving their original SW location and moving into a bigger and more beautiful restaurant in NE Portland, the pandemic struck shortly after and they sadly could only offer take-out. They then left that building and operated as a ghost kitchen in a commercial kitchen, but I’m so glad to say that they kept afloat and now have a permanent residency inside The Emerald Room at Aimsir Distilling. This space is so beautiful & inviting and fits their cuisine perfectly. Aside from serving mouth watering dishes, being located inside a distillery allows them to also serve beautifully crafted cocktails and N/A cocktails. They are open everyday but do require reservations on weekends.

If you love Asian comfort food, make a reservation stat! Your tastebuds will thank you. 💯 😊 🏃🏽‍♂️
