Did you know one of our largest expenses at the Sanctuary is medical care?

Things like veterinary care, including health checks, medications, bloodwork, and routine health care (like annual vaccinations), make up the majority of our monthly expenses. And these costs only continue to rise.

The animals who have found a forever home at Lily's Place are aging and displaced farm animals who require care and attention due to permanent injuries, behavioral challenges, or significant medical interventions that make adoption impossible. So that means that as time goes on, their medical care costs continue to increase as our residents age and need more assistance.

Couple that with the rising costs of medicine and veterinary services, and our vet bills will make you gasp.😱

We calculated our basic monthly medical care costs for this year to be $883...yep, that's per month!😳💰

This number reflects last year's medical expense total, with a 20% increase in line with the previous year-over-year medical care cost increase.

Sadly, when it comes to providing the best medical care, the options for animals are often limited by financial means. Having our medical fund covered each month, it allows us the confidence to make quick and effective decisions during emergencies and unexpected illnesses without having to worry about the financial implications. 🩺🏥

We're so close to our March goal already, and we would love to get this month covered as quickly as possible so that we can continue to provide the best care to our residents.
