Prolonged Power Banana Almond Butter

This is one of my favorite macrobar products... a nice treat as well as a

meal replacement in a pinch. I always carry a few when traveling.

Another favourite Gomacro bar of mine. Reminded me of banana bread.

I really wanted to love this bar (I eat the #almondbutter, #banana, and cinnamon combo

on my toast almost every morning) but it was so underwhelming. The flavors just didn’t come through in the way that I wanted. For starters, I think I like my almond butter a bit saltier (for that coveted sweet-and-salty quality,) but this bar has basically no sodium. It was also super dense and #chewy in a way that I just wasn’t prepared for — almost like some sort of nougat, for lack of better comparison. The 9g of added sugar also makes for a candy-like experience, which isn’t what I generally look for in a #proteinbar.

I liked the #walnuts and thought the bar was okay for a boost of energy before my run, but I would not get it again since it was expensive and not very tasty. Though it has good ingredients — many of them organic — it also didn’t strike me as especially healthy. I’m hoping that the other flavors I purchased will be better.

I thought I liked macro bars but lately the flavours I tried didn't do it

for me. This one was no exception. I didn't taste the #almondbutter much and the little dried banana pieces had a curious texture in my mouth, not unlike cardboard.
My favourite flavour was cashew caramel but it's nowhere to be found lately ! Its not terrible but don't think I would get this one again.

I was surprised by how much I liked this since I’m not normally a huge

fan of banana flavored stuff, but I think the sweetness of the banana complemented the almond butter well, and it didn’t taste artificial. I’d definitely get this flavor again. #harvestmoon
