I filed these #frozen #blueberries from German brand Natural Cool under frozen desserts.
To be honest, I do not possess a freezer anymore. I don't like the idea of having a device at home that consumes mainly unsustainable energy day and night when the freezers in the stores can do that as well. I do not forage food anymore into a frozen graveyard at home that out of experience became a well of forgetfulness. 😂
These #organic #berries taste sligthly sour and not too sweet, close to the taste of fresh blueberries.
The wrapper is a single foil plastic bag. 👎They could #dobetter by using cardboard boxes. Good point is that they are explicitly labelled as #vegan in the description on the back side of the packaging.
🤔The dilemma about berries is that they are seasonal and highly recommended for general health and well-being, as well as brain function enhancing food. In the Summer season, we can find them at reasonable prices fresh, in the other seasons we have to rely on dried, preserved or frozen berries. The freezing comes at an environmental cost.
Luckily, stored in a glass jar in a normal fridge, these berries keep 5 up to 7 days! Which is helpful for strategic food planning.
Thawed, they do not look as sexy as fresh blueberries of course. But it is a good compromise. I use them as one of the toppings on #green #smoothies .
Berries are one of the 12 "daily dozen", a selection of 12 essential foods one should aim to consume on a daily basis.
The products of this brand are generally of good quality.
I paid 4,80 € for this 300 g bag. The normal price is 5,25 €. Yes, a bit pricey but cheaper than fresh imported blueberries at this time of the year. Better spend money on pricey healthy food than on pricey junk food. 😊😉
