Review of California Bowl with Grilled Veggies (no chipotle sauce) at Rubio's Coastal Grill by courtneyransom

A California Bowl from Rubio’s is a fabulous, hearty dish! They get bonus points from me for using more paper bowls/packaging (as opposed to plastic) than many on-campus locations. #PlantBasedSDSU @sdsugreenlove

The California Bowl has yummy rice, greens, beans, and guacamole! because the chipotle sauce has dairy, I asked for no chipotle sauce and topped mine with salsa from the UNLIMITED salsa bar(!).

Compared to other Rubio’s locations, the staff wasn’t as knowledgeable about how to exclude sauces/additions of cheese and sauces with dairy. Unfortunately, prices are also more expensive than a typical Rubio’s because Aztec Shops charges for rental space. BUT, with a menu system that makes it easy (and a hard and fast allergy guide online) it’s very easy to identify what to avoid and what’s good to go.
