Review of Katsu Curry Don at Ren Dao Vegetarian Restaurant by alxvgnmelb
One of the chef’s specialties at Ren Dao Vegetarian and one of my, my partner’s and my sister’s favourite meals ever! I love both the rich Japanese gravy sauce (which we get with extra chilli) and the panko-crumbed soy cutlet. This more traditional mock meat is a lot lighter than a lot of the mock meat you can get these days, which I prefer. There was a time when my partner and I got this every week on takeout night. The restaurant is vego, but most of its dishes are 100% vegan :).

alxvgnmelb This restaurant is Asian fusion, and I think this is one of their only Japanese dishes. I’ve never seen a purely vego/vegan Japanese restaurant either...but there’s one in Queensland called Izakaya Midori that is 100% vegan and does the most incredible looking sushi plates. I almost want to travel to QLD just to try it 😅. 1 likeReply
