Modak are steamed dumplings with an outer rice flour dough and a coconut-jaggery stuffing. The dumpling was so soft, and the filling was the right amount of sweetness. A perfect dessert that makes your cravings for sweet go away, without making you too heavy.

These sweet dumplings are generally made during the holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in India. But it was a pleasant surprise for me to see a restaurant make them year round.
