🍿KFC around $10 I think
🌕Taste: ★★★★★
It’s really really good. It tastes pretty much the same as pizza pizza’s plant based nuggets but in popcorn style. It’s made with Light Life chick’n and battered in KFC’s secret krabby patty formula. Super yummy. I would definitely get it again.
🌘Presentation: ★★☆☆☆
K so is it plant based? Yes. Is it vegan? Well.. depends on how strict u are. The chick’n itself is vegan, however it shares the deep fryer with actual dead chickens. So if you want to avoid cross contamination then this isn’t for u.
*It comes in a paper packet which should go compost as it will most likely be food soiled.
🌘Nutrition: ★★☆☆☆
It’s fried chick’n lol
🌘Value: ★★☆☆☆
It tastes really good, but I honestly thought I’d get more. It’s kinda pricy for what u get idk. I feel like since it tastes pretty similar to pizza pizza’s chick’n nuggets it’s a better deal to get those instead as they around the same price.
🌖Originality: ★★★★☆
I can always have respect for a place that puts in the effort to make a unique vegan option. Obviously I don’t respect KFC as a whole lol, but I respect that they weren’t lazy with it. They could’ve just given us another beyond burger, but instead they put in the effort to make something different. I respect that.

sueprozak Are you 100% sure the same fryers are used? I was told by KFC that there are 3 fryers in each kitchen: one for chicken, one for fries, and one for plant based items - sandwiches, nuggets, etc. to avoid crisis contamination. I was also told the regular mayo throughout the chain is vegan (they no longer carry the other stuff anymore) but do offer a spicy mayo which is not vegan so be careful with that),and all the buns used in the sandwiches are now potato based and vegan. 1 likeReply
illusionist Hmm that’s interesting. I double checked their plant based faq and it said “Our Plant-Based KFC recipe is 100% animal free. HOWEVER, it may be cooked in the same oil as our Chicken. Our specialty is Kentucky Fried Chicken after all! We’ll let you decide if that’s suitable for you.” I guess it depends on which specific kfc as they say it “may be cooked.” Id say it’s safe to just always ask. This is the Canadian faq tho I can’t see the American one. I’ll try with a vpn. Reply
sueprozak I think you may be right that it could possibly vary from franchise to franchise (but then that kind of defeats the purpose of a franchise to me lol). Please let me know what you find out. Thanks 🙏🌱1 likeReply
illusionist The American one says basically the same thing. “It is 100% plant-based, but fried in the same fryers as our chicken, which may not be acceptable to certain types of vegetarian or vegan diets.” Kind of annoying, but if there are some that have separate fryers solely for vegan food then hopefully that means they are working on making them all like that. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽Reply
