Review of V-GURT Mango - Vindija by itsanavi

Croatia's top producer of milk and dairy products has finally decided to introduce vegan puddings and yogurts into its product range. I think the company has been around since 1959 and this is the first time (apart from a few types of plant-based milk they added in its range a few years ago) that they decided to introduce two flavors of pudding and two fruit yogurts.

The first thing I tried was this mango V-gurt, or as they called it – fermented oat-based drink. I have no complaints about the taste, the oats are very little noticeable, but the sweetness of the mango and mango puree prevails. The texture is perfect, thin enough and yet thick enough with chunks of mango. In my opinion, the product contains too much added sugar and is therefore too sweet for me. I think the mango gives enough sweetness on its own. And finally, Lactobacillus paracasei was added, which is why they pointed out on the declaration that the product contains more than a million good bacteria.

Its price is €2, which is still a bit too much considering regular dairy fruit drinks, but this will still be found at least once a week in my fridge when I want something sweet, because I'm glad that such a large producer of dairy products has started a plant-based direction and I want to support them. Before this, I think I have bought absolutely nothing from this manufacturer for 7 years (except for their few types of plant-based milk) since I don't eat dairy products. I certainly hope for vegan novelties in the next year, Vindija!
