Review of Vegan Vegetable - Spicy Pie by beckyyy

Apologies for the dud photo; I nearly forgot to take one so this is the best I got in a rush!

Spicy Pie was my fave festival food as a vegetarian so I was so excited to see that they FINALLY offered a vegan slice this year! My fave pizza is Neapolitan style but NY is definitely second, and Spicy Pie offers up delish foldable NY style slices.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I’d rather have vegan pizza without any cheese than vegan shreds. I enjoy Miyoko’s liquid mozz, homemade mozz or a smattering of cashew cheese plops but I’ve just not really enjoyed any vegan mozzarella shreds.

The cheese on this wasn’t the worst but it definitely was screaming “vegan cheese.” I really enjoyed the veggie selection and loved the crust but it was just okay. I think if it didn’t have the cheese (or had less) and had been freshly out the oven it would have shined.

Glad they have a vegan version; I’d honestly probably give it another shot just to be able to enjoy the same food w my friends, but the hefty price tag does hurt.
