Lovely day in the yard today! The cats enjoyed watching the birds, but luckily the birds stayed out of the yard while the cats were out. Bucky got to see the stray orange kitty who's been hanging around. Lots of tulips blooming and my honeyberries are forming thanks to some early rising bees last month. 🥰 We'll see if I get any though because last year the birds found them first. 😂  Had a few nice days but rain is on the way ... again. 🌧️🌧️

I have been having so much fun practicing making #[sushi](hashtag-5b61361bc215c949ed60ce8b) with these #[seaweed](hashtag-5b61361bc215c949ed60cd46) sheets. I didn't realize that this was #[wasabi](hashtag-5f2cb4b9628adf118fb3779a) style until I got home, but luckily it's not spicy - the wasabi flavor is very subtle. It tastes pretty good eaten on its own or made into sushi. This #[organic](hashtag-5b61361bc215c949ed60cda5) nori is a good source of both B12 and iodine which can be nutrients of concern for both omnivores and vegans.

I have been having so much fun practicing making #sushi with these #seaweed sheets. I didn't realize that this was #wasabi style until I got home, but luckily it's not spicy - the wasabi flavor is very subtle. It tastes pretty good eaten on its own or made into sushi. This #organic nori is a good source of both B12 and iodine which can be nutrients of concern for both omnivores and vegans.

Here are two projects that I'm actually proud of! 

The first is a filing cabinet that I got for free online. It was yellow and I spray painted it one of my favorite colors and used a spray adhesive to glue fabric that was given to me by mom. 

The second picture is a pair of my favorite boots that were peeling. I decided to sand away as much of the peeling bits as I could and used a spray adhesive to glue on a fabric that I picked up from goodwill. It definitely took a lot of trial and error to figure out the technique to get fabric to stay on well. I also had an old woven belt that I unwoven and created a little embellishment where the fabric transitioned. I love how they turned out!

I have a tendency of "saving" items that would ordinarily be destined for the landfill and then either storing them for years without doing anything with them, or I end up "down cycling" them and they get sent into the trash anyway. My current stash includes windows intended for a greenhouse and lots of clothing and fabric intended for refashioning.

I love these! The colour combination of the filing cabinet is gorgeous and I would never of thought to add fabric to boots; so clever! 👢💕

Sea Lavender & Chamomile Overnight Hydration Sleep Mask

I love love love this overnight moisturizing mask.  The smell is so amazing and relaxing. This contains many floral and plant extracts like chamomile, sea lavender, lavender, jasmine, ginger and aloe. The cream feels amazing on my skin. It feels brighter and tighter and all around  more refreshed. Before I started using this, my skin was starting to look really dry and lackluster because I never used a moisturizer, but now it's starting to look better.  I found this at Walmart and I'm so glad I did.

I like to add this to premade foods that are high in sodium (like chilis and soups) to help stretch the meal and reduce the sodium per serving. The texture is a little strange. I'm not sure, now I think I did the correct side. One side is shinier than the other and I think it's supposed to stick together with water but mine wasn't sticking very well.

I found this algae based omega-3 supplement on Amazon. It seemed to be the best value for vegan DHA compared to what else was available. 60 capsules and each capsule has 440mg DHA which was quite a bit more than most of the other brands No weird smell or taste unless you bite into it- then you unleash the ocean! Lol. I'm still not sure how necessary it is to supplement omega-3s and the more I try to learn the more confused I get. But it seems to have more pros than cons, particularly for cognitive health. Plant foods generally don't contain the DHA or EPA forms of omega-3 and our ability to convert from ALA to DHA and EPA is highly variable, which is why I started to take the algae based supplement.
