My very 1st try at plant-based egg during a one day @lovehandle X @onlyeg.sg X

Tindle Foods pop up event

OnlyEg by Floatfoods SG is a Singapore startup brand & is Asia's 1st plant-based whole egg substitute🍳 Made using fava beans & soybeans, it has the same nutritional value as a whole egg, without the cholesterol, hormones & drug residues 🌱

🍛 Vegan Nasi Lemak- $12
Fragrant pandan coconut rice with Tindle! plant-based chicken & OnlyEg plant-based omelette. On my 1st bite, I rly couldn't tell that its plant-based if I didn't know beforehand, the taste & texture is so similar to the actual thing🤯 I rly wonder how they did it. Of course not forgetting the well battered Tindle! chicken. Paired wth mushroom "ikan bilis" & chili (my mum & I love the chili, not too oily as well), the best vegan nasi lemak is created!👍🏻

🌹 Oatmilk Bandung
They used Oatside oatmilk here, my 1st time trying as well. So creamy😋

You can look forward to seeing OnlyEg in eateries across SG in the upcoming months & eventually in retail markets as well! 👀

Not on the permanent menu, this was served for the vegan nasi lemak all-day brunch

on 15 May ($12, contains alliums)! I thought they were boasting when they said they would be serving the best vegan nasi lemak, but they weren't kidding haha. The most outstanding component was the Only Eg Asian-style thin omelette made using a mix of legumes - very fragrant and similar to the real deal in terms of both taste and texture. (Compared to JustEgg omelette which is kind of bland and spongy). The vegan nasi lemak also featured Tindle chicken coated in crispy curry batter reminiscent of KFC seasoning, mushroom ikan bilis, Nyonya-style sambal, and pandan coconut rice.

Love Handle had a one time Nasi Lemak promo and as vegan Nasi Lemak is

one of my fave dishes in SG, and the fact that I was hungry and happened to be nearby when I heard about the promo that day, I decided to cash in on my luck and try it out!

This is a very hearty meal (I spent too much money with various add ons but it was worth it).

The sambal deserves a special mention. It’s one of the owner’s grandma’s recipe - and I was worried it’d be super spicy as some sambal can be (I’m not the best with spicy heat), but it was just right! I wish there had been more cucumbers - I always wish that with Nasi Lemak as the dish is heavy and needs a fresh kick.

The egg in the dish was of a new (local maybe!) brand (I forgot the name unfortunately!); the egg is fava bean based (and something else I can’t remember).

All the flavours and elements combined were put together well - in compliment of each other and you could taste each individual flavour well.

I would definitely order this again!

PS. I had the rose milk with Oatside 😍😍😍 I would go back just to get that! It was SO GOOD, refreshing, sweet, helped manage the spice, and reminded me of rose milk from when I was a kid!

Onlyeg does not compare to veganburg's sunny sides up. I've not tried just egg to

compare. But all in all a great meal.
