Again - if you’ve had original daiya cheddar shreds you likely never want to eat

daiya again. The cutting board collection is unreal! I don’t understand why the original ones exist anymore. Flavour - texture - everything is good with this. We make soups - Mac and cheese - all sorts of stuff and it melts like dairy cheese. I know it’s hard to forget those original shreds but this is worth it!

I think this is my favorite shredded daiya cheese. Awesome on gratin, in burritos, quesadillas

etc.

There's so much Daiya hate in the world and I just don't understand it! I

love the "stinkiness" of their cheddar shreds. Daiya was the first vegan cheddar I've ever had, probably around five years ago. I think it's a great alternative to anyone that likes strong cheeses. The current iteration also melts beautifully! I've been low on groceries this week, so my dinner has been a quesadilla with Daiya cheddar, onion, and refried beans seasoned with taco seasoning. The cheese pull on the quesadilla was cartoon-like. It made my mouth water and I wish I could have captured it well on camera to show the vegan cheese haters.

I think it's also pretty great that it's fairly allergen free, being #soyfree, #nutfree, and #glutenfree. This product also does not contain palm oil, although some Daiya products use very small amounts of sustainably sourced palm oil (this list can be found on their FAQs page).

Far from the best, but not the worst.
Like a lot of vegan cheeze, it’s rubbery

and doesn’t melt well. Has a weird soft feeling when it does melt. The flavor itself is mid, “cheddar-like” I would say
To me, it’s best cooked into something rather than being the topping or any highlight of a meal. For example- I added a bag of this into a homemade cashew cheeze sauce and it was a great flavor boost, but it didn’t work out well topped onto a casserole.
I bought this on sale at Whole Foods for $3.50.
