Review of Cheddar flavour cutting board collection shreds - Daiya by iszy
There's so much Daiya hate in the world and I just don't understand it! I love the "stinkiness" of their cheddar shreds. Daiya was the first vegan cheddar I've ever had, probably around five years ago. I think it's a great alternative to anyone that likes strong cheeses. The current iteration also melts beautifully! I've been low on groceries this week, so my dinner has been a quesadilla with Daiya cheddar, onion, and refried beans seasoned with taco seasoning. The cheese pull on the quesadilla was cartoon-like. It made my mouth water and I wish I could have captured it well on camera to show the vegan cheese haters.
I think it's also pretty great that it's fairly allergen free, being #soyfree, #nutfree, and #glutenfree. This product also does not contain palm oil, although some Daiya products use very small amounts of sustainably sourced palm oil (this list can be found on their FAQs page).
