Malaysian Brand... The bamnut mylk tasted good cold with cereal even better hot with coffee ā˜• #veganisnotscary #Veganmilk #plantbased

Bamnut Everyday milk comes in a recyclable tetrapak. Its a fortified plant milk made from

bambara nuts.

Personally, loved the taste. So far, I've tried it at room temp. I think it tastes the way you might expect a chestnut milk to taste. The nut taste is complex and forward. The mouthfeel was fairly on the thicker end of the spectrum. There are three choices of bamnut milk, so there's an offering where the bamnut is a little more dilute and one formulated for barista purposes.

Ingredients include: water, bambara groundnuts, coconut oil, calcium, vitamin D2 vitamin B12

I ordered online to try but I hope it ends up in a local store because I would buy again.

I had never seen this brand before in the US (or basically anywhere outside abillion

promotions,) so of course I had to snap up a couple of shelf-stable cartons and test a handful of use-cases. First off, what WhatIf gets right: theyā€™ve managed to achieve the thickness that I prefer with a simple slate of ingredients (and no gums!); the brownish milk is creamy, yet not overly rich, and it seems to play nicely with coffee. Theyā€™ve also hit on an extremely original ā€” and purportedly restorative ā€” formula through their use of Bambara groundnuts, #legumes which seems to have a lot of under-appreciated potential.
Itā€™s certainly something of an acquired taste, though. Iā€™ve been drinking it for the past three days and am still at a loss for words to describe it: nutty, obviously, but thereā€™s also a hint of something I canā€™t put my finger on ā€” smoke? star anise? Itā€™s not offensive, but also not something Iā€™d choose to drink on its own, especially since it gets a bit gritty as it settles. Best practice is to mix it into things that can handle the earthy notes, like oatmeal.
I mostly bought this for the novelty factor, but I think itā€™d be worth giving another chance if I were to encounter it again. If you have a Grocery Outlet nearby, you may be able to score this #ditchdairy innovation for just $0.99.

I'd had the airy version of this before, and honestly don't fully know where the

difference is versus the everyday version. Truth be told the novelty factor is so high that I don't even understand why exactly a #bamnut is or does šŸ˜… I sweetened this lightly (on top of the characteristic chocolate cereal for my #breakfastofchampions ā˜ŗļø) and it proved a decent, pleasing way to #ditchdairy and still enjoy all the goodness of #mylk šŸ™‚ Also pleasantly surprised to find that this is made in Malaysia (albeit under licence from a Singaporean company)

Could this be the first time someone made bamnut yogurt? Used this mylk to make

vegan yogurt, but it ended up watery even after adding corn starch. Guess soy milk would be better. Not really into this taste wise, there's a bit of aroma I'm not fond of, I tend to like nut milks less in general. It is really creamy and nutritious. It is nice to have this in drinks like latte for its thickness. #veganisnotscary
