Review of Vegan Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cake at LOCABA Low-Carb-Bakery by roshninagaria

I have had my eye on this cake for a long while after seeing it pop up in my Facebook ads for over a year, and have long been tempted to try it. Seeing it recommended in various online groups increased that temptation! So I finally found Locaba selling it by slice and had a hurrah! moment.

Unfortunately, I forgot to look at the price. One slice sits at a hefty $11! I am not going to comment much on the price as being a non-cake maker myself, and thus not knowing all that it takes, I’m sure there’s a justification for the price point. I just know I wouldn’t pay this much for this slice of cake again.

I’ve tried a few things from Locaba and unfortunately this was not for me. The combo really called to me - I love anything fruity and berries with chocolate is always a winning combination. However, there was something about the flavour and texture of the cake that I found unappealing. The sweetness of the cake was interesting and the texture was both soft and gritty. The cake left me with a little sting - I don’t know if it was from the strange sweetness or something else but unfortunately, this cake was a miss for me and I wish I hadn’t spent $11 on it! (My fault for not checking though!)
