Normally we avoid unnecessary snack waste. This is biodegradable packaging, meaning it will break down in proper compost conditions (not in landfills)
In “x” amount of time (depending on type)
Honestly don’t know if the packaging contains petroleum or it’s it’s plant based oil. For those unaware plastics, although recyclable are made using petroleum/fossil fuels.
We need to be aware of whats going on with our food & make smart shopping choices to help change the market of how food is packaged.
From my research it’s all such a muddy territory bio plastics & bio degradable.
I feel it’s safe to say zero waste & Compostable packaging is best.

vikas The reality is most of the stuff that people are buying that’s #biodegradable ends up going into landfills. Couple of reasons for that. Most people don’t compost themselves, and many people simply think that it’s biodegradable and their work is done, not realizing that if they toss it in the trash it’s just going to end up wasting away in a landfill. vikas But.. the flip side is, that if people become conscious and make better choices, even if they don’t actually move the needle, there is a potential mind-shift in the person that makes a difference in how they live and that can make a huge impact. 4 likesReply
monicamarcos Totally .. I’m just seeing how many people are vegan for the environment but not questions vegan food packaging for the environment.
But you’re so right about it being a shift.
